Upcoming Events!

US: SOUTH-EASTERN PA: There is a Mercy Ships Alumni meet-up and picnic at the Honey Brook Lions Community Center, 14 Mount Pleasant Rd, Honey Brook, PA 19344, on Saturday 28 July 2012 at 3pm! Honey Brook is about 20 miles south of Reading and 50 miles west of Philadelphia, PA.

For the last few months we have had alumni coming together all over the country to start chapters in their own communities and we would like to do the same for the South-Eastern PA area. The meet-up will be hosted by fellow Alum Len Crowther.

US: CHICAGO - Megan and Richard Brock met up with Jessica Campbell, Liz Espeland, and Jan Espeland in Chicago over New Years.

US: WASHINGTON STATE - We had a very strong turnout for the Meet-up in Kirkland near Seattle. Heidi Metz commented "What fun to watch everyone re-connecting, greeting, and meeting new Mercy Ships Alumns.  It felt like family.  We should do it again :-)"

US: GEORGIA - Warren Ladbrook reports that they held their first Atlanta meeting as scheduled over a cup of coffee at the Land of A Thousand Hills Coffee Shop in Roswell, and they hope to meet again in mid-December. If you are interested in attending please email us at alumni@mercyships.org

US: KENTUCKY - Sharon Neely reports that although some Alumni were unable to attend due to other commitments, a small but dedicated group met up in Louisville, KY for their first meeting. The group met at the local Cheesecake Factory and as Sharon reports "It went really well. It is always so easy to sit and chat with fellow alumni. Door prizes were a hit. Cheesecake was eaten!" TENNESSEE - Amy Kyriakidis from Chattanooga in Tennessee organized a little get together for alumni in the Chattanooga area in the Stone Cup Coffee Shop in Coolidge Park. Chattanooga also became the first official Mercy Ships Alumni chapter. Well done, guys! MASSACHUSETTS - Pete Johnson from Ashland, Massachusetts reports that they had an informal cookout in honor of Africa Mercy crew members Rebecca Taylor and Gregg Kulah, who are engaged to be married. While they were visiting Rebecca’s family in Massachusetts Pete and Audrey invited them and a few Alumni for a reunion at their house. They had a great time and Pete remarked that a number of people commented on the fact that people do carry on with their lives after volunteering on a Mercy Ship. They were happy to let us know that the alumni are alive and well up in this corner of the US!
