Haiti: Volunteer/Updates

In October, Mercy Ships sent two back-to-back Mercy Teams to Haiti.

The work our Mercy Teams were able to accomplish on the ground was so fulfilling. Check out the video Kelly Grizzard made during his visit to Haiti in October to see the incredible developments currently underway:

The crisis in Haiti continues to be a long term focus for Mercy Ships. We have teams in motion on a regular basis that are working to help rebuild the medical infrastructure of the country.  Though the crisis in Haiti is no longer on the front pages of the world, Mercy Ships remains committed to long term support for the people of Haiti.

We hope you will take a moment to view the video. You will see the harsh realities of a country that is rebuilding, but you will also see your dollars in action. In October, we will be sending two back-to-back Mercy Teams into Haiti. We have other teams scheduled to go to the disaster site the rest of this year and beyond.

Remember that Mercy Ships has plans to be in Haiti for the long haul. Just like we still have teams focused on areas affected by Hurricanes Rita, Ike, Katrina and others, we will continue to serve the region impacted in Haiti for many years to come.

Take a look at some of the photos of our progress in Haiti.

We will continue to be fielding teams for many months and years ahead.  If you have a skill, both medical or non-medical, and are willing to help, please click here to be placed on the list that helps us field these teams.

Disaster Recovery is just a small part of the Mercy Ships mission to bring Hope and Healing to the forgotten poor. As we prepare for our 2011 Field Service in Sierra Leone, we warmly ask for you to remember Mercy Ships in your gifts and prayers.

Thank you for your continued Giving, Praying and Volunteering.
