Gateway Program

The Mercy Ships Gateway Program is offered three times a year at the International Operations Centre in Garden Valley, Texas. It is designed to Educate for Missions, Equip for Service with Mercy Ships, and Empower for impacting the poor. Gateway is for singles, couples and families of all ages serving with Mercy Ships longer than nine months. This is a 6 ½ - week course composed of 4 weeks classroom instruction and 2 ½ weeks field application in a developing country. Curriculum includes topics on Faith Foundations, Working with the Poor, Personal/Interpersonal Development, and Basic Safety Training (a maritime requirement).

Dates for Gateway in 2010:

  • January 9 - February 25, 2010
  • June 12 - July 29, 2010
  • September 18 - November 4, 2010
