Foundations of Mercy Ships

Foundations of Mercy Ships (FMS) is a one week course to help prospective crew learn more about Mercy Ships, as well as facilitate the entry of long-term crew and staff into Mercy Ships. It is offered three times a year (see dates below) as a stand-alone course or as part of our On Boarding Program at our International Operations Center near Lindale, Texas.
Curriculum includes: Mercy Ships History; Mission, Vision and Values; Philosophy of Missions; Living in Community; Community Life Issues, and a personal interview with Human Resources.
Foundations of Mercy Ships includes a Personal Support Raising Seminar which is designed to inform and teach participants how to raise their personal support to serve in Mercy Ships. Topics covered include: Discovering the Biblical Foundation for Support Raising, How to Write Newsletters and Support Letters, Creating a Budget, etc. Our goal is to teach you how to create a support team that will follow your journey and provide the financial support that you will need to successfully serve with Mercy Ships - whether short or long term.
Costs: If taken as a stand-alone course, the Foundations of Mercy Ships (FMS) program costs $175US per person and $300US for couples, which includes housing, meals, and materials. The cost is included if taken as part of On Boarding.
Prerequisites: All attendees must have an application on file prior to registration.
