Working alongside MIERS Ministry, Mercy Teams has brought Medical and Work and Service teams to Benin, West Africa, since 2006.

Medical teams will work with local health care workers in a very rural village setting. The village chief will sound the gong, and the people will come to see you. Translators will be provided. You will be challenged as you offer your heart, hands, and skills to serve others. We will have a Doctor, Physician’s Assistant, or Nurse Practitioner with us. If you are not medically trained, we can still use you! Accommodations will be in a beautiful, gated area – with shared, air-conditioned rooms with men’s and women’s bathrooms/showers down the hall. Food will be prepared by a local chef. Bottled water will be provided.

Work and Service teams will serve at a children’s home or possibly work at a clinic. Other possible projects are painting, cabinetry, electrical work, refurbishing, mending fences, working in the kitchen, or making beds. The list is endless. The children are in school part of the day, but there will certainly be time for interaction and the ability to share God’s love by giving them your full attention. In many cases this personal time is the greatest gift you can provide.
