Responsible to the Chief Officer through the Bosun and Assistant Bosun for general duties and also responsible to the Officer of the Watch/Day, during periods on bridge/gangway watch or on fire/security patrol. At least Certificate of Competency according to STCW 95 Section A-II/4 is required as well as having practical and theoretical knowledge with regard to use of hand tools and portable power tools. Minimum commitment of 1 month is preferred. Position is available now.
Motorman

Assist in routine watchkeeping, maintenance and cleaning in the engine room. A Certificate of Competency according to STCW 95 Section A-III/4, basic knowledge of engineering principles, and practical and theoretical knowledge with regard to use of hand tools and portable power tools are required. Preferred minimum commitment of 4 weeks. Available beginning January 2013.
