Occupational Therapist

This opportunity is available May 7 – early August 2011 (the exact end date is still to be determined). The OT needs to commit to this entire length of time. The Occupational Therapist is to provide high quality rehabilitation services for peri-operative surgical patients. There is direct patient participation in selected tasks to restore, reinforce, and enhance performance; facilitate the learning of skills and functions essential for adaptation and productivity, diminish or correct pathology, and promote and maintain health. This position is based on dock-side, ship, and/or community. The position needs to be filled by a registered & licensed Occupational Therapist with at least two years experience. Experience with plastics surgical patients, such as burns reconstruction required. Some experience in orthopedics and in musculoskeletal outpatients also beneficial.

Dental Sterilizer

Available August 14 – November 2011. Looking for Previous Dental experience with autoclaves or in a dental clinic is beneficial, but not required. The dental sterilizer prepares dental instruments for use in the clinic. This is an off-ship position that requires ability to work in hot and dusty environment. Minimum two month commitment; one-year commitment preferred.

Dental Assistant

Available August 28, 2011. Looking for Minimum 1-year experience as a dental assistant or in the dental field. Knowledge of Dental instruments, Knowledge of Dental procedures. The dental assistant works beside the dentist to provide dental care at a land-based location near the port. This is an off-ship position that requires ability to work in hot and dusty environments. Minimum 2 week commitment, though longer preferred.
