Mindray Joins Mercy Ships to Deliver Care Across Africa
MAHWAH, N.J. — Aug. 26, 2025 — Mindray and Mercy Ships, a non-profit operating the world’s largest non-governmental hospital ships, announced a multi-year strategic partnership. Through this partnership, Mindray deepens its commitment to advancing Mercy Ships’ mission of delivering life-changing surgeries, providing medical training and education, and delivering sustainable healthcare capacity across Africa.
In an effort to further Mercy Ships’ mission, Mindray has dedicated itself to providing technology and expertise support.
While in service to partner countries, Mercy Ships works with hospitals and country officials to provide a screening for medical needs in-country. Mercy Ships requires highly portable and easy-to-use medical devices. On board the ships, the diverse and complex surgeries demand reliable and comprehensive medical solutions.
Building on a foundation established since 2017 , when Mindray North America began donating patient monitors , the partnership formally expanded in July 2025. This new phase includes donations of ultrasound devices to the Global Mercy and the provision of both virtual and on-site volunteer technical support and training services.
Between 2018 and 2024, Mindray’s North American and European subsidiaries provided continuous device and technical support. Currently, over 350 Mindray devices — including patient monitors, anesthesia machines, ultrasounds, AEDs, ECGs, and central monitoring stations — are operational aboard both the Global Mercy and the Africa Mercy, ensuring care around the clock.
