Our Mission

Transcending Borders. Changing Lives.

Globally, 5 billion people lack access to safe surgery. Children, teens, and adults suffer and die every day from treatable causes, and one child in eight will die before age 5.

With the support of people like you, we deploy hospital ships to combat this overwhelming statistic. Since over 50% of the world’s population lives near a coast, our ships are the best way to reach them with state-of-the-art medical care.

We follow the 2000-year-old model of Jesus, bringing hope and healing to the world’s forgotten poor.

Mercy Ships uses hospital ships to transform lives and serve nations, one at a time.

Core Values

Desiring to follow the model of Jesus, we seek to:

  • love God.
  • love and serve others.
  • be people of integrity.
  • strive for excellence in all we say and do.

“As a PICU nurse onboard, I get to be a part of rebuilding broken hearts with love and laughter and the light of Jesus. This is why I volunteer. “

“I fought for her every day. I told the other kids off for making her cry. Everyone teased her.”

“I feel I’m part of something really good, and being a deck officer onboard is a way I can use the skills I have to  help people. I don’t often have the opportunity to be of service in the way that I am on Mercy Ships.”
